esp cork balls are produced in natural unfilled cork which has a heavily pitted surface. this helps the paste really grip and makes for easy pop-up production. generally, pop-ups should be as buoyant as possible. this helps lift the hook reducing the chance of missed takes and hook ejection. for optimum buoyancy, it is recommended tha no more than 2mm of paste is used around the cork. increasing paste coverage around the cork can allow slow sinking and neutral buoyancy hook baits.
