What Baits to use during the winter for fishing...
Well...
We find baits over the winter period do not really change. Yes the fish are in "slow down" mode and essentially will not be as hungry.
This is down to the fish keeping fairly still in the lakes, and therefore not using as much energy as during the summer... so they need less food.
The main advice we can give you is to keep baiting little and often, and use some baits with a bit of a "whiff" to them!
Matt Hayes has produced some wonderful additives that will make winter fishing a bit more spectacular!
M & M Gunk!
Its a sticky treacle like juice that you can add to your favourite baits like sweetcorn, meat, or even a tiny bit of ground bait (probably not the best idea in winter!). The smell .... well is unique, but the fish seem to like it!
Only £7.99 and available here
